All I can say is...

Devil Doll and Denver was AWESOME!  I really think I had more fun in that one weekend than I have in a very very very long time... actually I can't remember!

Thursday night the BF got over to my humble home where he found me in a bad bad tired ass mood... I'm sure he was like "fucking great what have I gotten myself into!"  After whining to him about how crappy my day was we ate and finally got a little sleep because yes we had to be at the airport at 5am!  I'm such a bad morning person which something else he found out about me... lol!

The flight actually wasn't to bad but I will never ever go to Kansas City airport again!  That has to be the dumbest most messed up place in the country!  We actually had to leave the airport to go to another terminal area where we had to go through security AGAIN.  Lets just say I was getting tired of showing my sissors and having them measure the stupid things... (note to self: leave the damn sissors at HOME).

We checked in the hotel... OMG... I'm use to the Motel 6 down the street in the hood.  21st floor at the Hyatt downtown with the view of the mountains. (I'll post photos when I get home) I felt like such a little princess!  Friday night we walked around and found this great little retro lounge and I just couldn't help drink just enough to get my big mouth just a flapping.  Again, I'm going with poor guy.

Saturday we headed to the Alpaca Extravaganza, which took him forever to find because someone like ME forgot to get the address, location or even the name or the convention center.  And again we need to feel sorry for the BF!  So, here I am with the Alpaca Greeter or I like to call him my other boyfriend.  See I'm even wearting my Knit Girl shirt.... woo hoo supporting my girls!

Me_and_the_alpaca_greeter

After subjecting the BF to way to much knitting stuff we went over to the tattoo convention and we both agreed sadly on his part that the Alpaca thing was way better!

Later that night we finally made it to Benders after the cab ride from HELL... Devil Doll could not have been any better!  She was actually so much more than I was expecting.  One of the girls there took our picture... I can't tell you how fucking happy I am in this photo!

Dart_and_me

I have other photos but damn it I'm at work and all the other stuff is at home.  I just never find the time to sit down and write something.

The next trip is up to ATL for him to meet the parents and best friend Wendy.  We are going to see Sweeney Todd, the broadway musical at the Fox!  Could that be any cooler.  Poor BF doesn't like gore so he will be hating the fact I'm going to pretend to slash his throat all night... yes I already figured out what to do to annoy him! "SLASH!!!!"

It is so Pastie Round #2!

Right now in the Knit Girl group on Ravelry we have started the Pasties Swap again!  I think there is close to 70 girls right now... not sure on the number because the bestest organizer Brittany is taking care of the details.  I went out and got the yarn on Saturday... I think I've narrowed down to the two patterns I want to do.  I'm making up mine own so we will see how they turn out.

We also have our new girl Chloe Sparkle (her real name I might add) to add to The Knit Girl gang.  She is one awesome chick and when I can make it to CA she is so going to teach me to spin fire!  How hot is that?

Until next time....

smooches,

The Madam

April 30, 2008

Its been 62 days since my last post....

Now do I get a spanking?  Knittygirlie where are you when I need one?

I'm going to try to write this while eating the most gawd-damn hot pizza!  Who the hell puts jalapenos peppers on a pizza?  OK, I'm sure a bunch, but damn- it they are freakin HOT!

You know it is really amazing all the changes in a person's life that can happen in only two months.

First we will hit the Ravelry group front!  Man that group has got to be one of the best group of girls and boys ever!  It is amazing how we can go from swapping pasties, modeling them, to helping one of our beloved members out in a crisis.  The group has been busy knitting & crocheting squares for a comfort afghan her.  Lori, you are in all our hearts and minds during her time of pain and sadness. We love you sweet Indulgence.

Let me go ahead and wipe the tears away and try to go on....

FYI: There is now a Knit Girl Blog for any updates and going on in that other world of mine

What a life of a Knit Girl

So because I had way to much drama in my life and so I got rid of all the crappy people... ones that put me down for the stuff I choose to do and for who I am.  I will not change because it might offend someone or someone might see my pastie covered boobies.  So no more letting others control any part of my life whither it is ex-boyfriends, friends or whoever....  Amazingly once I decided all this within a week I met the most wonderful guy, I swear, in the world.  Not to mention he is a fireman, how totally hot is that??? Gets me going that is for SURE!

I'm really not sure what I have done to deserve to have someone care so much about me.  I guess waiting these few years for the "right" guy has really paid off.  But, I'm not going to get to deep into it with you guys just because there are some people I just would rather not know about my comings and goings but lets just say he spoils me with kindness and thinks the world of me... not sure if I have ever had that in life before... he has put me on cloud nine!  Life is a crazy thing once you have completely given up it throws you something you just weren't expecting.

On Friday my new guy told me that we are going on a trip this weekend.... get this, we are going to Denver to see my favorite singer Devil Doll.  He has booked everything and has it all planned for ME!  Also, Molly that is running for May Knit Girl lives in Denver so I asked the BF if we could stop in the yarn store she works at... he said we could go anywhere I wanted to go!  How amazing is he to let me go to a yarn store... poor guy, doesn't know what he is in for!

Then the next weekend I head up to spend a weekend with my best friend in her boat while the boys fish... ok, way to many vacations I will never get anything done at home.

Other than that my parents came down for a weekend and we actually had a freakin great time!  I can't even believe I'm even typing that... but they are doing so great and somehow they have turned into these crazy funny people!  My dad even wore a shirt that said "Scars are just like Tattoos but with better stories".   Mom said he was dying to wear it!!!  What goofballs.

Work... well same ol same ol but it looks like I won't be moving back to ATL anytime soon so I guess I need to just start to enjoy what I do!  My plan is to go back to school in September and get my Aeronatical Technical Management degree.   Then I guess I will be "officially" smart!!!!

Crap on to my not-so-much-knitting life... I've been such a bad knitter girl!  Except for the squares on the comfort afghan and pasties I've really not done to much.  I had a million stitches drop from my intolerable cruelty skirt when the cable on the circulars came unscrewed.  I think that frustrated me so much that I just can't look at it for a little while, but since they yarn cost me a boat load so I really need to get it going again... seems like a good project for the plane ride.

No time to post picture this time but I'll get some in Denver... woo hoo...

So Hardcore!

Wow... it has been a long ass month for me.  Tonight I'm sitting here trying to stay positive about turning the big 35 tomorrow.  Its like I only have a few hours left until I become old... I know old is only in you head but every year I go through the same thing.  This is why my ex-husband always waits until a week after my birthday to call so he doesn't have to hear me cry.  Yes I cry... a lot!
Between the birthday, me getting pissed off at work and being freakin sick I think a mental breakdown almost happened on Thursday.  So do you feel sorry for me yet?  OK, since that is done off to better stuff.

Yes I'm feeling completely like a hardcore knitter right now.  After 2.5 hours of some well wanted pain I now have been marked by the "Knit Girl" fairy!  Here she is on the first day.... it looks pretty rough right now since it is flaking like crazy!

The Knit Girl Diary entry # 69

I'm going on day 2,549 now and boredom has taken over me....

Its 2pm, Wednesday, small cubicle, sitting counting the minutes… I really need to get OUT of this cube and OUT of this office!

I do not think I can last much longer. Memories of my childhood flash before my eyes, now it seems that there it isn’t a day where I don’t feel like stabbing others. I guess it's just the normal corporate life huh?
Yep, I believe that there is not a fast lane in my life now, it has now turned into slow and suicide lanes only.

There is one positive thing I can say for myself this week, I think I have beaten my ADD knitting problem! I have actually finished a hat for myself. This has to be the 10th or 11th hat I have started… so I say congrats to me!

Shocked_hat

See I'm shocked I finished the hat!

Attention, attention all Knit Girl shoppers!!! We (big thanks to Rebecca, Michele and Brittany) have started a KAL for the Knit Girls on Ravelry.

Right now it is just knitting something sexy or naughty, but next month I think we are going to tackle Intolerable Cruelty. My pick is Felt Up from Naughty Needles, so I can wear it on my birthday, which is only 19 days away…

so with that being said you are going to be one of the lucky one’s to read about my little mis-adventure (I’m sure only knitters/crocheters would understand the comedy in this)

My week so far has consisted on knitting, html coding, Knit Girls and being consumed with trying to figure out how my cat stole my yarn and where the hell she put it. Now it wouldn’t have been so bad if there was more of it at the store but I had bought the last 4 balls, the exact number I need! So here I was: 3 balls, a cat and part of the corset.

What’s a knitter to do? Stop and start all over with another color? Do I go look all over town for another ball?  Or Should I just bite the bullet and pay a $6 for shipping a $4 ball of yarn?

First things first, I went to every place that sells yarn in Savannah and no Lion Brand Landscape Country Sunset! Imagine THAT! Sadly I stood there in JoAnn’s, staring at the empty shelf that once held my MIA yarn, trying to contemplate my other options… I really don’t wanna start over so F&%$ it; I’ll just order the stupid thing!

My sweet little thief!

During my ranting drive home I had a faint memory of something… wasn’t I yelling at Trixie (the sweet little thief) while I was trying to sleep the night the now famous yarn ball disappeared… yes, she was messing with a BAG…. And the yarn was in a BAG!!!! DUH!

Well I found it alright… in the back corner under my bed (mind you this is all the way across my whole apartment around many corners) behind some storage boxes and old shoes!!!! I was very happy but couldn't she at least given me a hint. So here is my progress so far…

WOO HOO!!! Saturday is going to be an awesome awesome day!!!  Its tattooarday!  I’m going to get my knitting ink done! The Knit Girl logo will soon be permanently placed on the back of my left leg near my foot…. So freakin excited. I already have a Dahlia sketched out for my shoulder which I am going to try to get next month!

I really think the tattoo is the reason I’m having such a hard time at work this week… thank you Tax Returns and screw you groceries and light bill ( ok, I’m paying the light bill)!

Remember March Knit Girl submissions need to be in to me by the 15th with at least 3 photos to use for the voting. (Face, Ink and wildcard).

My pinup photos are coming up soon thanks to a couple great guys that will be (you know who you are)helping me out! Smoochies darlings!

May all your dreams be of Pinups, knitting, ink and beer!

Zombie Colors? Devil Doll? AND Mohawk Hats? Busy Little Freak aren’t we?

Wow… I’ve been totally neglecting my blog. I’ve been putting every free minute into The Knit Girl’s site. I really hope everyone is enjoying it!

However I have been working on the Roller Girl legwarmers from Stitch N Bitch Nation. They are so Zombie colors, if there is such a thing. Black with green stripes, cool I know!
The only problem is I think they are going to be a little on the big side but if they are put over jeans they may actually work! Damn me and my “swatching is too boring for me, just get me to the good stuff” attitude! Maybe I’ll learn one day… ok, probably not!

Zombie_legwarmers

Sunday while sitting in the local coffee shop, working away on the site… I went and checked the Knit Girl’s myspace and I had an email from… well… it couldn’t have been, BUT it was!!! Devil Doll herself! If you don’t know who she is, she is an awesome Rockabilly singer! She has been one of my favorites since my ex-boy gave me her cd about 4 years ago.

Well she was just saying that she was actually a knitter and that she is in a “rock-n-roll” knitting group! YES a group of musicians that knit, this gets two thumbs up!(Ok, so at this point I sat there stunned, mouth gapping, probably with drool down the side of my face)

She went on to ask about the Knitted Mohawk Hat (ok, still can’t breath), and how cool our site was (by now, I’m basically peeing in my pants)!

First instincts were to write the following:

You rock, you are awesome, I wish I was your best friend in the world…. We are just alike you and me, cause we like the same music, we both knit and I too am about to start knitting the ‘mohawk hat’. We could totally be BFFs!!!

Second instincts (or actually when my brain kicked in) I realized that would be a little on the psycho side. So I just told her that I really loved the new album (if you haven’t heard it, you really need to check it out!) and where to get the pattern for the hat.

We wrote back and forth about the music and we both made each other’s day – and yes she did say I made her day so stop laughing I’m not CRAZY!!!!!

Well that was my story of the week… maybe the story of the year… hell it could be the story of my life. Ummmm, that is taking it too far huh? OK, its just a good story!

See you knitters on The Knit Girl pad!
