Knitting - The Naughty Side...

I know we all have that one guy or girl that is the 'Jerk At Work'.  Here in Savannah I can say we have our fair share of jerks around town, however there hasn't been too many I have had to work with over the last 6 years.  Except now I think the biggest jerk or what I call him "guy with stick up his butt" works in my department. I could go on about how he looks down on women and tries to make us look dumb, that he is an egotistical self asurbed butthead but I am sure that you know someone just like this and can relate.

Let me say this guy is a true hottie but as soon as he opens his arrogant mouth it all goes to hell.  Most of the people in the group swears he is gay but I'm not buying that one.  He even just bought a hot tub as a "chick magnet".

OK... on with the knitting story... yesterday I was sitting at my desk knitting (I was on lunch thank you) and one of the guys came over and said I should make some thongs for 'guy with stick up his bum' that would have a tiny pouch in front for his wee wee.  That would make a great Christmas present for him!  Well at that moment my mind went down... in the gutter that is.  I remember having a pattern for a Willy Warmer, because for some reason guys always ask me to knit them one.  I haven't actually done it yet but maybe I will as a present to the guy who suggested the thongs.  Anyhoo... I went seaching and I am going to share some of the fun ones (most with the patterns) I have found across the internet.

Do I Actually HAVE to Work?

As I sit here listening my freakin awesome music - Listen to Scissor-Sisters--I Dont Feel Like Dancing.mp3 . I also sit here staring at the yarn and needle sitting on my desk.  I know I CAN'T knit at work but what else can I do?  I have a whole hour left and I've finished everything I possibly can which includes cleaning my desk. Trust me if I have resorted to cleaning then you know I'm bored. 

So I've decided to share what is on the needle right now...

Here is one of the five facecloths that I'm in the middle of making for the girlies here at work "spa" sets. 

I know its kind of a suckie picture but its from my phone... so get over it.. : )

Here is the pattern:

Garter Stitch Lace Facecloth

I'm kind of excited about this one because I get to do my favorite stitch - YO K2tog, I don't know why I love it but its just gets me all warm inside!  Now this is the first time I've done the P2tog... which I'm really having to get use to, its had me cusing a couple of times already!

So I'm doing facecloths and soap savers... what else should go in the baskets?  Well hell if I know... I guess I'll figure that one out later, I mean I have a whole month to do ALL my knitting list for Xmas... which includes a cool afghan I found in Spiegel catalog, it isn't on the website or I'd post the picture.  Its really simple garter stitch but the yarn is what I'm going to have problems with.  It is Super Bulky,  I would think for like a size 19 needle.  I've found some on the web but its all made of Wool and I'm not really sure how it feels in my hand.  I'm a big touch person.  It needs to be really soft... damn... it would be perfect for my parents. It would look awesome in their living room sofa.  I guess I'll figure something out.  Maybe just do it in wool and make it more of a "look at" afghan and not a "snuggle" one.  There are always issues!

OK so enough about knitting.  Time counting down... 26 mins left.  Maybe I can sneak out a little early, the boss is gone so why not?

Off to pack up and walk the mile to my car in the cold and dark night. 10 hour days really suck!

When Obessions Collide

Now I would never normally call myself a groupie or someone that would EVER be obsessed with a celebrity or musician. However on Friday night thoughts of knitting AND a super awesome singer came to an intersection in my life.  How could this ever happen you must be asking yourself... It really all started out very innocently.(really it did!)

Down here in the deep deep south there isn't much of an alternative music scene, so pretty much you take what you can get.  Growing up in Atlanta I was a devote punk rocker and have somehow lost my way during the last 10 years trying to find myself and trying to be something I'm not, like the doctor's wife and part of the work girlies.  I was so unhappy... This is the main reason I started to knit but I knew that I had to find my way back to the days when I was comfortable with life. 

Little by little I've found myself back into the Goth scene which to many it would seem quite strange but it is actually a pretty peaceful and romantic way to be. 

I try to attend as many theme parties I can here in Savannah, always looking forward to the First Fetish Friday.  Well last Friday has been one of my favorite entertainment night since I've been here... 6 LONG years.  Goth singer Voltaire came down to play at our Black Oaks Asian Infusion Night.  Not only did I get to dress up, I got to hear actual good music.

Here I am right before leaving the house for the night:

OK.... So here is where the obsessions collided.  Voltaire is such a hot guy (yummy actually), wearing tight pants, a cool KNITTED sweater and being a really down to earth cool guy got me totally having a HUGE crush.  So here it goes... the knitted sweater.... did I like the sweater more than him?  ummmm

One min I was thinking... damn that boy is hot... and then the next I was like "I could make that sweater".  How could this be?  I was at a great show... hanging around Voltaire and thinking about knitting.  My friend Missy suggested I knit sweaters for both of us and wear them next time he comes... oh what groupies we were.  However, I did get out of there without humping his leg - can't say that much for Isis.  I am happy to report that when I left I actually got a chance to hug him since my little group were about the only 5 people left at the club and he said I really smelled good... its Karma by Lush and I'M NEVER GOING TO CHANGE IT!!!!  Here is a shout out to Lush.

Who knows which one I was more excited about, the sweater or the guy?  I guess I will never know.

Knitting vs Lost: The Battle Begins

Needless to say last night was a total wash for my adventures in Christmas Knitting projects and damn the freakin list keeps getting longer!!! My fingers can't go any faster people!

Right now I'm working on a Awareness Ribbon Illusion Cloth to go with one of the 6 spa sets I've been doing... Hell, I feel like I'm working in a sweatshop... same thing over and over and over... well six times over...

Since I've never done the illusion knitting before I'm gettin' kind of excited... woo hoo!  I almost made myself a cake... ok that wasn't happen!

Now the part we have all been waiting for - Knitting vs Lost: The final verdict was....

LOST!!!

Now we are off to the WINNER of the night:  Lost (the only TV show I have ever been completely obsessed with)

It was a very sad night for me... I even cried.  So we said goodbye to someone I know all of us Lost fans have grown to love over the past two seasons and that man is Mr. Eko, our beloved and respected drug runner, murderer and part time priest (haven't you ever noticed that its always catholic priest on tv and not like baptist... I guess the collar is like a tag saying HELLOOOO I'm a priest can't you tell by my fancy outfit). Oh, sorry about that radom thoughts! Now on to the subject of dear, dear, sweet Mr. Eko.
