The Knit Girl Diary entry # 69

I'm going on day 2,549 now and boredom has taken over me....

Its 2pm, Wednesday, small cubicle, sitting counting the minutes… I really need to get OUT of this cube and OUT of this office!

I do not think I can last much longer. Memories of my childhood flash before my eyes, now it seems that there it isn’t a day where I don’t feel like stabbing others. I guess it's just the normal corporate life huh?
Yep, I believe that there is not a fast lane in my life now, it has now turned into slow and suicide lanes only.

There is one positive thing I can say for myself this week, I think I have beaten my ADD knitting problem! I have actually finished a hat for myself. This has to be the 10th or 11th hat I have started… so I say congrats to me!

Attention, attention all Knit Girl shoppers!!! We (big thanks to Rebecca, Michele and Brittany) have started a KAL for the Knit Girls on Ravelry.

Right now it is just knitting something sexy or naughty, but next month I think we are going to tackle Intolerable Cruelty. My pick is Felt Up from Naughty Needles, so I can wear it on my birthday, which is only 19 days away…

so with that being said you are going to be one of the lucky one’s to read about my little mis-adventure (I’m sure only knitters/crocheters would understand the comedy in this)

My week so far has consisted on knitting, html coding, Knit Girls and being consumed with trying to figure out how my cat stole my yarn and where the hell she put it. Now it wouldn’t have been so bad if there was more of it at the store but I had bought the last 4 balls, the exact number I need! So here I was: 3 balls, a cat and part of the corset.

What’s a knitter to do? Stop and start all over with another color? Do I go look all over town for another ball?  Or Should I just bite the bullet and pay a $6 for shipping a $4 ball of yarn?

First things first, I went to every place that sells yarn in Savannah and no Lion Brand Landscape Country Sunset! Imagine THAT! Sadly I stood there in JoAnn’s, staring at the empty shelf that once held my MIA yarn, trying to contemplate my other options… I really don’t wanna start over so F&%$ it; I’ll just order the stupid thing!

During my ranting drive home I had a faint memory of something… wasn’t I yelling at Trixie (the sweet little thief) while I was trying to sleep the night the now famous yarn ball disappeared… yes, she was messing with a BAG…. And the yarn was in a BAG!!!! DUH!

Well I found it alright… in the back corner under my bed (mind you this is all the way across my whole apartment around many corners) behind some storage boxes and old shoes!!!! I was very happy but couldn't she at least given me a hint. So here is my progress so far…

WOO HOO!!! Saturday is going to be an awesome awesome day!!!  Its tattooarday!  I’m going to get my knitting ink done! The Knit Girl logo will soon be permanently placed on the back of my left leg near my foot…. So freakin excited. I already have a Dahlia sketched out for my shoulder which I am going to try to get next month!

I really think the tattoo is the reason I’m having such a hard time at work this week… thank you Tax Returns and screw you groceries and light bill ( ok, I’m paying the light bill)!

Remember March Knit Girl submissions need to be in to me by the 15th with at least 3 photos to use for the voting. (Face, Ink and wildcard).

The Cure Just Like Heaven

Crap the day is almost here. Two days left until I have to fly, yeah in a plane!!!!  I’m a freak right now about the whole thing.  I barely even slept last night stressing out over work (my new promotion), my flight, meeting Ash’s family and friends.  They are even  throwing a party for us on Friday night which is so cool but man what a big deal it is!

 

I think the biggest part of me freakin out is the fact that he is officially going to ask me to marry him when I get up there.

So I have been doing some knitting… here is my scarf so far.  I chose blue – well I really didn’t choose the blue, it was about the only color I could find except for light grey and a off white.  But I think it’s looking pretty good.  I think I should have it done by the time I leave on Thursday but if I don’t I still have the 4 hour flight and yeah I will be drugged up on Xanax but hey I guess I’ll find out if drugs and knitting can work together.  If not well I guess I’ll have to give it to a blind man.

10 days to finish my cable scarf... can I do it?

Oh man, I only have 10 days until my trip... and I've got a ways to go on my scarf.... here is what I have so far, well you know I'll be all up on that thing tonight! 

I think the next color I'll do is a lime green...

I'm actually enjoying this whole cable thing. 

Well since I got my new camera I decided to try to take a new picture of my hip tattoo.  I know once I get married I'll be getting quite a few more since he is a tattoo artist.  Oh now that one isn't making my dad happy.  I've (and he) has already been warned by daddy.... Oh well I guess I'll just have to cover up better when in Atlanta.  You would think at 34 I'd be out from under my parents hand... but oh I'm not. I haven't decided to get the other hip done. ummm should I?

I'm knitting again and Making Yarn Hairfalls!

I've been such a bad knitter.  Life has been great but changing everyday.  This has been the best year so far!  I am so happy about my job too... the boss has been giving me new projects that will either make me or break me at Gulfstream.  I just need to head back to school and finish my last two years of college, which I dropped out to work two jobs so my ex-husband could go to Medical School - what we do for our family.

So I've actually got the hang of this cable thing.  Here is the scarf so far:

So now I need to figure out what the next color should be?  I was thinking this dark grey with a dark red... I'm not sure what colors Lion Brands Thick and Quick Woolese comes in... or what they have here in Savannah.  I love AC Moore but they really didn't have any colors I liked.  I mostly wear black and greys... so what color???????

All I know is I only have 11 days until I leave and get to see my baby!  Wow I can't wait.  He got us a cabin and has planned this whole romantic weekend for me!

I talked to his aunt last night and she is soooo cool!  He has a really close family and they have already made me a member.  Which is something I'm not use too!  A guy wants me to be part of his WHOLE family!  Well my parents will love him except that he is a tattoo artist and that means more tats for me... yes!!  My dad is going to be really pissed off!  lol

So I just got some yarn I bought on ebay.  It is pretty thin so I might double it and make a scarf and hat for my friend Missy or just use one strand and do a summer hat and decorative scarf for summer... it is perfect for her because she LOVES black and purple...

Any suggestions for what I could do would be really appreciated... she is really into goth... so something kind of different would so rule!

I have started doing something with my left over stash and let me tell you it went over so well when I went to this show last week.  I've been making hairfalls with it... here are some pictures of my hair:

Got Ink? Got Knit? I DO!!!

What a productive weekend it was!

So I finally figured out what to do for the girlies at my work for Christmas presents(with the help of all the girls from the knitlist).  Get ready... I'm going to do the spa set, I'm not exactly sure what it will all include because I usually get really carried away with all the goodies. I just love doing all kinds of funky stuff so its unique, and that is just how I roll...

So I started on the soap saver.  I have completed one and half so far... well ok except for the part I hate the most, Finishing!  I figured I would knit them all at once and then do all the finishing in one big agonizing time.

Now the coolest part of this project was my search for the missing freakin needle I had just had in my stupid hand... I know everyone's been there just as much as I have, but when I was digging around the sofa my parents brought me from our living room in the 70s when I was a little girl. 

Remember here I am searching for that freakin #7 needle. Feeling in the corners so deep that a mouse couldn't even get any crumbs (why did I really think I'd find it there?) I felt something? I realize it is metal but a little smaller than any needle I've had for knitting.  Holy yeah its a pair of scissors I must have lost them a long with all the other needles and such.  But no!!!! These where my little girl scissors I had in 2 grade!

The pattern came from Weekend Knitting book from Melanie Falick.  I now I have to so do it ... this is going to be the bomb!

Now for my other news:

It might sound weird to all you but after ever big break up I get a new Ink. So on Sunday I went up to my friends tattoo place and got my hip tattooed.
